ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the short-term clinical effect of lumbar nerve root canal injection under X-ray angiography in the treatment of sciatica.@*METHODS@#The clincal data of 78 patients with sciatica underwent lumbar nerve root canal injection under X-ray angiography from December 2017 to February 2020 was retrospectively analyzed. Including 31 males and 47 females, aged from 22 to 88 years old with a median of 65 years. There were 55 cases of lumbar disc herniation and 23 cases of lumbar spinal stenosis, the course of disease ranged from 1 to 8 weeks with a median of 3 weeks. There were 71 cases of single segment disc herniation or stenosis, including L3,4 of 5 cases, L4,5 of 61 cases, L5S1 of 5 cases, and 7 cases of multisegment herniation or stenosis. The pain visual analogue scale (VAS) was recorded and Macnab was used to evaluate the clinical effect.@*RESULTS@#All patients completed standardized treatment without serious adverse reactions. VAS were (3.21±0.76) scores immediately after treatment, (2.89±0.33) scores 1 hour after treatment, (1.80±0.27) scores 6 hours after treatment, (1.10±0.20) scores 24 hours after treatment, (2.53±0.35) scores 1 week after treatment and (4.27±0.36) scores 1 month after treatment. There were significant differences in VAS between before treatment(7.83±0.56) and each time period after treatment(P<0.05). According to Macnab low back pain evaluation standard, 42 cases were effective, 34 cases were markedly effective and 2 cases were ineffective within 24 hours after treatment, with an effective rate of 97.4%;38 cases were effective, 25 cases were markedly effective, 15 cases were ineffective within one week after treatment, the effective rate was 80.0%;32 cases were effective, 22 cases were markedly effective, 24 cases were ineffective within one month after treatment, the effective rate was 69.2%.@*CONCLUSION@#The short-term clinical effect of nerve root canal injection under X-ray radiography in the treatment of sciatica is good and it is an effective method to relieve sciatica.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Mesenchymal stem cells have unique homing, immunoregulation and anti-inflammatory properties. After intravenous injection, mesenchymal stem cells can home to the damaged target organs and tissues, and function to repair damaged tissues.OBJECTIVE:To observe the pathological changes of lung tissues in rats with emphysema after mesenchymal stem cells transplantation.METHODS:Twenty-four female Wistar rats were randomly divided into experimental group, control group and healthy control group. In the first two groups, the model of pulmonary emphysema was established by the method of dropping porcine pancreatic elastase.BrdU-labeled mesenchymal stem cells were injected into the tail vein of the rats in the experimental group, and PBS was injected in the control group. After 14 days, the pathological changes of lung tissues were observed.Tumor necrosis factor-α level, alveolar wall apoptotic index,anti-CD34 and anti-BrdU immunohistochemical changes in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were detected.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the healthy control group, the tumor necrosis factor-α level and apoptotic index of alveolar wall cells increased (P < 0.01),and the relative areas of anti-Brdu and anti-CD34 decreased (P < 0.01) in the control group.Compared with the control group, the level of tumor necrosis factor-α and apoptotic index of alveolar wall cells decreased (P < 0.01),and the relative area of anti-Brdu and anti-CD34 increased (P < 0.01) in the experimental group. The histopathological findings showed that both the control group and the experimental group showed emphysema-like changes, but these changes were milder in the experimental group than the control group. To conclude, mesenchymal stem cells can inhibit inflammatory response and apoptosis in experimental emphysema, improve the pathological changes of the lung, and moreover, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into lung vascular endothelial cells.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from the twigs of Myricaria bracteata. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by column chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectroscopic data, such as NMR, MS, and physicochemical properties. Results: Fourteen compounds were isolated from M. bracteata and identified as syringaresinol (1), (-)-lyoniresinol (2), (-)-isolariciresinol (3), N-trans-feruloyltyramine (4), N-trans-feruloyl-3-methoxytyramine (5), N-trans-feruloyl-2'-methoxytyramine (6), kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucuronic acid methylester (7), quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucuronic acid methylester (8), quercitrin (9), rhamnocitrin (10), gallic acid (11), gallicin (12), E-caffeic acid (13), and E-ferulic acid (14). Conclusion: Compounds 1-6 and 14 are isolated from the plants of this genus for the first time. Compounds 7, 8, 12, and 13 are isolated from the twigs of M. bracteata for the first time.

ABSTRACT

To establish the local quality standard for Dendrobii devoniani caulis from Longling, Yunnan, the pharmacognostic characteristics microscopic characteristics and TLC identification were developed. Sulfuric acid-phenol method was used to determine the content of polysaccharide. An HPLC method was adopted to determine the content of mannose, and extractives were determined according to the procedures recorded in the Appendix of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2010). The results showed a strong characteristics microscopic of Dendrobii devoniani caulis, and its TLC identification had a good resolution with clear spots; the content of polysaccharide is 35.7% -52.1% (average 42.7%), mannose 27.8%-46.1% (average 35.8%), and extract 4.5%-10.6% (average 7.38%). The method is simple, accurate and reliable, with good reproducibility. The established standard is acceptable for quality evaluation of Dendrobii devoniani caulis from Longling, Yunnan.
